SERBIA HOPEFUL THAT NEW IMF AGREEMENT WILL BE SIGNED
At a meeting with Resident Representative of the IMF Kim Deheng, Deputy Director of the IMF's European Department Aasim Husain and Head of the IMF Mission to Serbia Zuzana Murgasova Vucic stressed that the aim of the government and the IMF is economic progress and a better life for the citizens of Serbia.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Kori Udovicki, Minister of Finance Dusan Vujovic, Minister of Economy Zeljko Sertic, Minister for Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Aleksandar Vulin, Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic and Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Snezana Bogosavljevic-Boskovic.
The members of the two delegations had constructive discussions on a new arrangement of the IMF, during which they reached agreement on a maximum number of key issues.
The IMF, after a week of talks with representatives of the Serbian authorities, expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation with government institutions.
They reiterated that the restructuring of public enterprises is one of the key reforms that Serbia must implement in order to obtain a new arrangement with the IMF.
